I don't see the point of having this as a subfile. I think it should be inlined in the uncolored head.

This file hold several kilobytes of surfaces. I'd say that is sufficient justification for being in a subfile. (Now, I'd've put the conditional lines into the primary subfile, myself, but that's just my own personal preference.)

Having all the patter-used surfaces in their own subfile can be thought of as a failsafe, a tip of the hat to Murphy's Law. Just my two cents' worth. ;-)
