Is there a good reason to keep the split of surfaces of inner and outer cylinder?

Yes, there might be a different solution...
I think it might be possible to use the helical cylinder primitives.

I can't get it to work without completetly removing the cylindrical inner and outer surface.
Every other copy of this file is used in a mirrored position, to create the other side of the curved surface.
And if I have both of the cylindrical sections present, I will end up with overlapping surfaces.

It might work if I create a true helical cylinder primitive, and use that one between a set of mirrored subfiles.
A helical cylinder might be useful in other parts.

Am I making any sense, Philo, or do you see another solution?

I was thinking of this. Not perfect either as it is assymetrical and requires more stuff in end subparts.

Sorry, but I can't get that to work either. I end up needing two different endparts.
I think it is due to the thread pitch being 8 ldu, but the part is 20 ldu long.

OK... afterall it worked for years with a solution even worse!

Could probably work with 3 subparts (inner/outer cylinders and side of screw)
