First (undoubtedly stupid) remark: can't a stud primitive be used?

Second remark: Did you check the size on an actual part?
The studs seem to high. According to LDD, the studs connections are 30.5 LDU apart = the part is 30.5 LDU high, not 31.5 LDU.

First: this possible simplification escaped me. Next release I'll fix it. There is also a red edge to fix.

Second: I found the referencee design on digital-bricks.de. and the main dimensions are respected: bottom surface placed at 19.7, top surface at -19.7.

I meant that the LDD shape is wrong: the studs are too long with regard to the connection points.
If I place a plate 1x1 at each end in LDD, then export to LDraw (thus locating the connection points), the hilt's studs collide with the plates / the plates' bottoms are 30.5 LDU apart, not 31.5.
It could be an error in LDD in the position of the connection points or in the size of the studs or part.

IMO we need to have a real part in a mock-up build with real parts.
Are both studs placed "in system"? LDD indicates that it ain't.
