Comments:
1977 (original) variant of the Electric Motor 4.5V:
The metallic axle core is not visible.
The groove for rubber-bands is much closer to the tip of the axle.
There is no hole for the center-prong on the plug (I do not know of any such variants).

A very rare variant of the original motor (with the same axle) has an arrow on the top/center of it (between the studs).
This arrow pointed towards the axle; the arrow is barely visible and is almost 2 studs long, so you will have to look closely to see if your motor has the arrow.
The motor with this arrow has nylon bearings and will thus never squeak.

-So I suggest keeping room for a variant of s\6216ma.dat for the arrow.

This motor was sold either ...
1: In the 870-1 set.
2: In the 960 "Expert Builder" set.
3: Or as a motor in a small heat-sealed plastic bag. Price for this was DKK 50,- in 1977 in one store; that'd translate into around DKK 100,- today, which would be $17,- .. But I've seen on the net, that the official price was DKK 34,95 - this would of course depend on the individual store.

Modifications from Chris' files:

6216m -> 6216a:
reference 6216mf instead of 6216mb
reference 6216me instead of 6216mc

s\6216mc -> 6216me
change lengths and positions of all axles/cylinders
metallic axle length and start reduced by 1, so that the metallic part is covered completely by plastic
plastic axle length = 9.6 + 4.0 + 5.4
As I did not have an actual motor available, the measurements have been taken from a magnified picture.

s\6216mb -> 6216mf
Middle prong hole parts deleted, so that rectangular holes are exposed.
The exposed rectangular holes are covered using quads.

As I do not have any utility that can do the hard work for me, the modifications have been done "by hand" using a text-editor.
I've done my best to ensure everything is correct.

This file is not BFCed.
That is LDRAW shorthand lingo for the sentence
"the file does not carry _B_ack _F_ace _C_ulling information".
This means that the surfaces in it do not have a dedicated orientation assigned, so that rendering programs cannot use that information (to optimize their renderings in logic and speed).
We recently achieved that ALL our files are BFCed (at least on the parts tracker), so these new files should not break again that nice achievement.
To add this missing BFC information to the file, you should
at first add the line
0 BFC CERTIFY CW
or
0 BFC CERTIFY CCW
to its header, telling that your file *does* carry that information.
Then, open the file in LDView and turn on the display of "outside" surfaces in GREEN and "inside" surfaces in RED.
You should then flip the orientation of all surfaces until
all outside is GREEN and all inside is RED.
Such a file then will be called "BFC CERTIFIED".

Understanding this sometimes seems difficult for LDRAW beginner part authors, but in fact the concept itself is very simple and easy,
don' feel confused!

Our goal is to only have files which are BFC certified.
