I think that

2698p03.dat
86037c.dat
86037d.dat
168135a.dat

could share the "Technic" logo.
We should create 2 subfiles:
- one modeling just the text in color 16
- one modeling just the text surrounding in color 16
By combining these two, we can create all possible color combinations.

I should express myself more clearly...

Of course, there are different generations of the "Technic" logo.

I think we should name them maybe
- "Type 1", "Type 2", "Type 3", ...
or we could describe their visual appearance instead:
- "Technic Logo (Digital Font)"
- "Technic Logo (Rounded Font)"
- "Technic Logo (Italic Font)"

What I had in mind when writing my previous post was:
IMHO, we could create own files for each of the logos and use them in the parts carrying them.
This technique will bring us more versatility. See also

Maybe http://www.ericalbrecht.com/technic/1977.html
can be of help for us here, because it displays the Technic
sets in chronological order and lets us track down which logos
appeared in which order.

a good history of the logo can be seen here:
http://isodomos.com/technica/history/catalogs/catalog.php

There we see: the "rounded font" logo was in use from 1982 to 1999.
In 1999, a new logo appeared.

As this is from a set after year 2000, I have to mention, that the LEGO logo is clearly wrong.

For the technic logos: I'll check my instructions and boxes from the technic sets from 1977 until today over the weekend. All we need than, is somebody is able to make these patterns from a hi-res scan, I can made of these instructions.
