I don't think it is right to use White or Metallic Black on this part. I think the "drill" is metallic silver, code 80.
But on the other hand, all the colours in this pattern is off. The pattern is very simplified.

You should try to round of the vertices some more. Five decimals is to many.

Do you have any recommendations for me?
The metallic black should be something almost like black. I think the original part is like a chessboard with background colour and black, but with very thin quads... I don't think it's wise to add those little quads.

Same in the lower oval. Plus the background colour seems to fade into the white...

The rounding shouldn't be a problem, thanks for the hint.

Changed Peeron number to Bricklink number.
So far, changed the colour of the drill to metallic silver and rounded to 3 decimals.

Looking at the sets this is used in, I would go for the BL naming calling the pattern "louvers", that 's what I would see as well.
Concerning the colours, I got the part, but need to look for it

I'll change the name later with a new version.

The dark colour at the lower part of the pattern seems brighter in the Bricklink picture then in the part I've got at home. Like I said before, in my part it's almost like black...

Edited the oval from 16 to 48 to smooth it...
In this process I tried to improve the shape of the louver and the colours, but still need some help with that...
I tried to chequer the metallic black part, but this didn't look better...
Closed a gap at the bottom of the pattern.

IMO this is now a good fallback pattern behind a Texmap image. If someone wants to improve it more...
