Could you please show us why we need a third version of this assembly?

I did this part because the part 32288c02 do not exist (at least for me), see this https://picclick.de/LEGO-RACER-8472-mit-Batteriemotor-Antrieb-umgebaut-nicht-223480849441.html.
The intention is to substitute the part 32288c02.

What dio you mean it does not exist for you? 32288c02 is on the Parts Tracker (https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?s=32288c02) but still need reviews before it can be released into the official library.

I mean in real life; never find an image of that part. I am aware that the part 32288c02 exist in the ldraw part tracker list.

According to this post:

https://forums.ldraw.org/thread-23897.html

there are only two.

In real life there are two versions (as far as I know): part 32288c01 correspond to set 8472 and part 32288c03 (the one that I make with base type 3) correspond to set 5221, set 8279 and set 8307. The only diference are in the base color according to bricker.info.
The question I made is: to witch set correspond part 32288c02?

Well, if something is wrong in the c02 assembly we should correct that one, not upload a third version.
Why do you think we need more version of the sub files and subpart you made?

If you are aware of the difference between the real part and the 32288c02 assembly submitted, why do you not make the corrections before?
If you dislike my work day that and I send a message to the part tracker admin asking the deletion of my part.
On the contrary, you can pay the same for part 32288c02 assembly if you like. Or discuss wath assembly we kept.

I'm merely trying to point out that if there is somthing wrong in the c02 assembly we should correct that one.
I don't have this part. I know that Willy is also working on the errors in c02. Maybe you could together with him correct it?

I'll keep this Hold-vote since there is no third assembly. Making a third version is not the right way to correct 32288c02.
Looking forward to reviewing the result.

I just started working on this part a week ago and have only a small idea what's wrong with them. Also because I'm still waiting to get the real part I ordered at BL.

However it's not about like or dislike. It's about the fact that apparently there are only two versions of this motor into the wild.

My suggestions is therefore (since none of the parts have been officially released) that you submit your type 3 overwriting type 2 and asking the PT do delete type 3. You'll have also take into account the suggestions made for the naming in 32288c02.dat

This means also that your 32289c.dat has to overwrite 32289b.dat (don't take into account the original author - his work is total crap)

Take into account that 32289b.dat and 32289a.dat might share code. It's up to you if you wanna have a look at the code I posted at the forums. I step back from this part. Go ahead with your good work and let's get this baby official.

OK,
The difference between 32288c01 and 32288c02 is in the bottom part 32289a and 32289b.

What you should do is to change the subfile 32289s01. Remove any surface that is blocking it from being re-used in 32289b.
Then 32289a should be be changed to use 32289s01, adding all surface that makes it different from 32289b
Then, change 32289b. Re-use 32289s01, and add all the new surface you have made for "32289c".

Add the rear axle, now called s\3142s06, in 32288c02. It should become a ~Part, not a subpart.
Your new file s\3142s07 should also be a ~Part. Please ask Admin for u-partnumbers, and a change of parttype.

btw,
32288c01 have to be correted too. The long axle914, is out of position.

Hello: As Holly-Wood say the subpart 32289b.dat is wrong (and the primary reason why I make my own subpart and the assembly and related files, except 32288.dat and 3142s06.dat).
Can you give me permission to ask the PT admin if he can delete part 32288c02 (and asosiated files) and rename my work whit proper names? I have no problem in doing that, especially renamed my files.

At Mon Mar 2 18:55:34 2020 part 'parts/32288c03.dat' was renamed to 'parts/32288c02.dat'.
