Why can't this part use any of the existing subfiles?
How is the pattern different?

The condlines on the patterned surfaces are missing.
I can't find a reason to have that many subfiles for this part. Is there a special reason, why you made it that way?

I'm not so sure. There is a lot of similar patterns:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=1&q=30361*&catLike=W&v=2
Let's wait and see were this is going.
The old files also use a lot of pattern subfiles to cleverly make more patterns.

However I don't like the added cond lines here. Please move them like you did in the head, 98100ps1.

I'm voting hold here until the subfiles have proven necessary.

Reduced the number of subfiles and moved cond. lines to main part.

These subfiles are really just for ease of patterning, and can be inlined if not useful.

sorry, but this extreme subfiling to me does not make sense.

Are you sure of the pattern variations here?
I can't find any picture of a part with the shadowing effect in the 'lower left panel'. Is it a misprint?
Or long/short black lines in the 'center vent panel'. Also a misprint?

I do see a need for many subfiles, but I think that many of them are to small.
I see no need to half them or using them mirrored, like it is done in the 'center vent panel'.

The 'base' file needs to be split in two. I see some parts with black lines.

The 'bottom right panel' could become one subfile. The center pattern is always the same, black/grey, but the colour around it differs.
If you make that area colour 16 in the subfile, it is possible to reuse it, adding the surrounding colour in the mainfile.
