I like your truncated ball... so much that I would like to see it promoted to a primitive ;) The shape might be useful for other files, and as a subpart it's difficult to find again!
In the same spirit, the truncated sphere used at the other tip of bar might be useful too if it was made a primitive!

I'd say truncated sphere. Ideally these truncated spheres should have a mathematical definition allowing primitive substitution, but I'm not sure if it's even possible...
