The right side of the curly bracket is sometimes with a pattern or not.
The CGI version has the pattern while real photos such as also the image from Bricklink (link from Orion above) seem to confirm there should be no pattern and IMHO it is not a misprint. What do you think?

VM would be 995 (1000 - 5 (five before a thousand)) and VII = 7 which makes 995 + 7 = 1002. Bad.

VM (with a dash above the V) makes 5000 + 1000 + 7 = 6007
