Description/Notes:
MAX2DAT is a Windows utility to convert 3DSMAX ASCII files to .DAT files.

Once the MAX mesh is exported to a parsable ASCII file, MAX2DAT can be used to convert this file into LDraw format.

You can selectively convert any objects exported from MAX. Options for converting all faces, standard edge lines and even optional lines are available. All triangular faces created in MAX are parsed, paired whenever possible and combined to form .DAT quads to help minimize the size of the output file.

Concave quads are detected and avoided, there are many options for the creation of edge lines and even optional lines can be automatically generated.
