Description/Notes:
L3Lab is a DAT/MPD file viewer. You can choose from 15 predefined view angles, or you can use the mouse to rotate the object. L3Lab features many view options to toggle shading, dithering, transparency, POV-like look with seams, random colors of parts/faces, which linetypes to show, highlighting of edges, etc.
You can pop up a window and examine a tree view of the model, its parts, their primitives, right down to the basic linetypes. L3Lab also provides various statistics for the technical interested: timing, total count of linetypes, sizes (boundingboxes) of model and all parts/primitives, the current view matrix, etc.
L3Lab doesn't use OpenGL, DirectX or other external packages, yet it is very fast. It is written in C++ and uses Z-buffer rendering.
