Why is the entire part placed on the negative side of the coordinate system?

There are gaps around this quad:
1 4 -45.41825 -0.6735 -48.37375 0 1 1.4755 0.6735 0 0 0 0 -1.4755 rect2a.dat

Is this the first part from EV3?

Comments:
- "Why is the entire part placed on the negative side of the coordinate system?" It was the section in the original model whose triangle distribution worked best for split... then I forgot to re-orient it!
- Gap corrected.
- "Is this the first part from EV3?" Not exactly, but it's included in education expansion kit, and its Hero Factory origin wouldn't make it easy to locate for average EV3 user, hence the tag.

If this was my part, I would replace that rect-prim and the quad next to it, with a quad and a triangle.
There is still a hairline gap between them:
1 12 45.418 -0.673 48.374 0 -1 -1.4755 0.6735 0 0 0 0 1.4755 rect2a.dat
4 13 46.894 -1.347 46.898 43.943 -1.347 49.849 45.287 -3.312 48.506 46.897 -3.312 46.897

There is also a gap between two subfiles, when put together in main file in the same area, continuing on the bottom surface.

These two:
4 14 44.245 -0.133 44.245 43.143 -0.133 45.346 43.142 0 45.347 44.245 0 44.245
3 10 44.245 -1.747 44.245 43.143 -0.133 45.346 44.245 -0.133 44.245
could be replaced by a single quad.
