Comments:
the file is based on Andy Westrate's initial version, so i included credits to him.
i replaced the grip with handle.dat primitive and changed the orientation to match the other shields using that grip. i increased the thickness a little bit.

This works for me, but maybe it is time to create a new set of lo-res 48-sided primitives.
Please have a look at how 3876 is made. It too could use a set of similar primitives.

The part is fine, but Magnus is right. We need low-res 48 tori primitives.

Any suggestions how to name the files properly? The titles are

Low-Res Torus Outside 1 x 0.0455 x 0.25
Low-Res Torus Inside 1 x 0.0455 x 0.25

Are they still 48\primitives? Or should i simply upload them as standard subfiles belonging to this specific part?

I'm more then unsure about this. Maybe this topic should be discussed in our forum?!

Mixed-res Torus?
I see them nonetheless as 48-primitives, not specialized subfiles as they have a clear mathematical definition.
Not sure for file naming: perhaps simply adding a suffix (m?) after regular torus file name?
