Actually since we do have T-junctions remaining anyway I think that the shape could be simplified a lot, eg. using a box4-1 for top and sides!

This is better indeed, but I'd prefer an even simpler version! Why inflate triangle count(*) where all potential issues (most probably not visible anyway) are located on sharp edge where they are hidden by edge lines?
(*)OK, I agree, overal triangle count gain is low anyway compared to overal triangle count caused by the many facets of studs ;)

I've updated with fixed T-junctions - I honestly don't know what I was thinking before.

Like Max, I prefer a T-junction-free part where possible, so it should look a bit better now, and be a little bit smaller!
