I don't understand why the center of O is main color and the remaining of the background is red.

I find the issue philo found worth a reason to hold.
Either should also the inner portion of the O be red,
or all red replaced by color 16.
I prefer the latter, to be able to for example use this logo
also on blue background (and be versatile).

I'm additionally holding because the title needs to be extended to
contain something like "with Closed O", since there are two
fundamentally different LEGO logos around: "...with Closed O",
and "...with Open O". Just scan the parts tracker or official parts.

Steffen, did you have the permission from the author to fix this? The first hold vote has not expired the 3 month period we give the author to fix it himself.

Willy and Mike, there's no need to be so alarmed here:
I knew from the changes that happened
- here
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=p/slotm.dat
(moved from s\ folder to \p folder, changed winding)
- and here
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/004159a.dat
(added box primitive)
that JC should be in general fine with doing such trivial changes
that bring things forward on the PT.
All I did here was to replace the color of a tiny number of
miscolored quads.
I did no complete rewrite of this part or changed it basically.
All people are complaining about things going so slowly
on the parts tracker. Hadn't I corrected this trivial glitch,
this part would sit here for another 3 months with a hold vote
on it. Compare this with the two certify votes this part has now.
I feel this is a good progress.
JC, maybe you can leave a note here that it was okay to correct the color to get everybody happy again.

Steffen, I know that you sometimes are hurry and sometime you are soooo slow. So why not wait 3 months, maybe the author has had a special purpose to do what he did. We have made our rules to have a good time TOGETHER!
But as you can see also from my certify vote I think this one time is it ok.

as this file has not yet been out officially,
we could consider to rotate it 90 degrees and position
it flat lying on the floor similar to the stickers
to achieve more homogenity

I have intentionnaly set inner O in main color.
This inner is red on sticker 003432 (see Peeron), and yellow on 004159 (see http://www.geminisystems.net/bricklink/chapter32v2.pdf page 10).

If you use color 16 in this subpart, then you need to check
that all its parent parts use the proper coloring when referencing it.
Currently, 86037c.dat and 86037d.dat do not.

Such errors are very likely to happen again in future. To prevent that, I suggest that we extend the title of this file by the information
that the O inside is color 16.

At Sat Dec 10 17:15:05 2011, the following review was posted:

Comments:
I had voted hold above because the change to color 16
broke some of the parent parts.

I have looked now at the 2 links you've provided:
(showing a red inner)
(page 10, showing a yellow inner)

From that I get the impression that the sticker with the red
inside is a misprint. This sometimes happens when LEGO had
distributed its prints to various printshops.

For this reason and to bring things forward here,
I suggest that we abolish the color 16 usage in this file
and replace it by yellow.

Should we keep color 16, we need to do 2 things IMHO:
- extend the title of this file so it mentions that
- adjust all the parent files to use this file in either red or yellow

However, I do not suggest to do that. Instead, I favor
using just yellow here.

I agree here with Steffen. If you maximise the pictures you can see the differences.
So if using this file we need to color this part depending on the real part that is shown. I think that is not a big deal and can be done quickly for all related parts. I like to come back and give my cert votes on this files.

I think other colours then yellow for inside of the letter O are misprints.
Please see the Brickipedia page with all Lego logos.
All we need is a 'high-res' primitive for the logos a) 1973-1998 and b) the 1998 - present one. So that we could easily use these Primitive in other parts. IMHO we should not bring the black boarder into such a primitve, because it differs a bit from print to print.
So if somebody with more skills in LPC has time please make both primitives...

Philo was so kind, to create a great pattern for the code pilot. Maybe I could adapt/insert this into this 'low res' version?!
