I currently do not understand the vertical placement of the origin.
With what part is this going to form an assembly?
Should we provide a ...c01 for that assembly,
analogous to 3403c01.dat, 61485c01.dat etc.?

Origin is placed so that top/bottom can be exchanged by a simple rotation.

I think the origin is very well choosen.
If you put them together, you'll find that it is in the middle, between them.
