There is something broken in the top hole.

I would use Minifig Headwear. Maybe TLG will use this parts for the "normal" minifigs as well.

After looking again at the problems showing inside, I think I'll go with a semi-automatic tool... One annoying issue is managing condlines, I don't have yet a clear mind about that.
