The stud is mirrored...

Is it really necessary to go hires? problem I see is that hires toruses need A LOT of polygons (1150 here) since they are hires in both directions. Or maybe build the torus from some (hires) cones and disks + condlines between them?

No, it's not necessary. I only used hi-res primitive because the other round shield uses them for the disc.

Yes, the stud is mirrored.
IMO, this part should be rotated 90 degrees and have the origin like official files; 2586, 10049, 75902, 92747.
It should also use the primitive handle.dat

BTW, it is probably also a good idea to subfile the main part, since there already is at least two patterned shields.

0 !LICENSE is missing.

this file could make use of the subfile s\91884s01.dat:

1 16 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 s\91884s01.dat
1 16 0 0 -9 25 0 0 0 0 25 0 1 0 48\4-4disc.dat

is everything needed. Am i allowed to change it?

If you ask me, yes, please use the subfile.
