Admin should rename the old base (part 2972)
I don't like the Type 1 and Type 2 description by myself. Maybe someone has a better idea?

Bricklink refers to these two, as with or without underside studs.

There are some overlapping quads along the bottom centerline surface.

Good now.

There is a lot common between the two files, 2972 and this one.
I would have made a subfile to be used in both parts, and mirrored that one,
only adding the differencing pieces.
And the reinforcements are also very symmetrical, subfile them, and use twice or four times.
But that's just me...;)

Magnus, I like your idea, but I will be in holiday until the end of September and I think it's great to have this file available for everybody for the moment.
So I will do this when I'm back.

I subfiled this part, but a using a part from the file for the old train base is very complex, because the boxes of the underside have not the same dimensions and so on...

There are stud-groups for the small understud; stug3-1x3 and stug31x7, that could be used here.

You could also use stud4h.dat.
