I don't see a reason for the two 4-4edges at the 90 degrees knee

There is a small 'enlargement' (or whatever you'd call it) between those circles, small enough to be just edgecircled, see http://peeron.com/inv/parts/71137?img=9133

I see the enlargement on the image.
So why not model it instead of faking it by using 4-4edges
as an "emulation"?

I agree with Steffen. If we are fixing this let's fix all its faults, including enlarging the corner section. This is no loss to the library, as an official version already exists.

Could save file size by using cylo instead of cylo+2x edge.
Bottom end could be done with cylc.

You might be right here. Personally I do not care much about all the existing primitives. You need to have a dr. title to know all that. If simple geometric does the same as any primitive I use simple geometric, as I am also simple :)
If someone like to further improve this part, please do so. The visual appreance will not benefit from that. Therefore I see this as - wasting time.

OK, I will waste my time, here. ;-)
The reason for the hold vote is: the outer diameter of the torus is 4.4 the edges around are 4.5. I will correct the edge to 4.4. If you want 4.5, please let me know.

I'm not so happy with the ring-ring solution.
If there is a consensus to use simple discs I will change back.

How could I miss that step for this part...
Normally I write parts in different colours and then I correct the colour with DatHeader.
