It seems to me that this part should have another gemetry for the boll socket part. Since some time it seems that all ball sockets are in a new style that is still not represented in our parts.

If this part is a beam it should be oriented like one - holes facing upwards. Also geometry truly needs overhaul.

Actually as these parts' functionality is far from being a beam, I suggest making a "Technic Ball Joint Connector" 'sub-category' with the following changes:
61053.dat -> Technic Ball Joint Connector 5 with Rectangular Sockets
61054.dat, once done, would be: Technic Ball Joint Connector 7 with Rectangular Sockets
47296.dat -> Technic Ball Joint Connector 5 with Circular Sockets
50898.dat -> Technic Ball Joint Connector 7 with Circular Sockets
32174.dat -> Technic Ball Joint Connector 3 with Single Circular Socket
61054.dat, once done, would be: Technic Ball Joint Connector 3 with Single Rectangular Socket

Opinions?

I tend to agree with you, main function here is ball sockets, not beam.

Had to completely remake the part - it was too different.

Modified to use axleho12.dat. This part however uses an unique axlehole I'm not willing to model right now even if it would be inlined. It's good enough like this IMHO.

Which axlehole is needed here? type1 or 2 or 3?

Actually my best guess is that it's actually a #3 axlehole, 'shafted' inside. It looks different on black parts as it looks the same on a black 60176 and 61054 but other coloured 60176 and 61054 are clearly a #3 axlehole. And as 60176's axlehole is shafted down and a black 60176's axlehole looks identical to 61053's axlehole, I suppose making this use shafted-down #3 axleholes is the right way to do it. At least, I guess so...
