sorry, but I think this is a subpart:
it is not even closed, so it cannot be a part

All similar flexible elements (eg. 759.dat) are ~parts!

This is exactly the way we went with the other similar parts.
1) put into the parts folder (therefore type part)
2) mark it with a tilde to hide for non prof. user.
So for me it is very much ok like it is.

I can accept that status quo for the time being,
although I do not like it,
but nevertheless, in the header of this file,
the type should definitely be changed to "Subpart".
This really _is_ _not_ a part.

At present I do not have the time to look for the other parts where we used such construct already. If someone could find them and list them here or better in the forum that would be great. We need to find a solution that works for all of us.

I agree that this is technically a subpart, but if its part type is set this way, then PT doesn't allow to put it in parts folder! Type of other similar elements is set to part.

Yes, Philo, that is what I remember too.
Additionally I think it is time to make a thread where we store all these files that are somewhat out of our "normal" systematics and why we have done it in this way. If we have a place where these informations are in, we can at one time in the future check for the necessarity of this and maybe change that :)
