Missing edgelines from:
- the outer wheel
- the axle
- the cone
- central frontal cone
- the spokes

The stud2.dat is the wrong way around!
The part is also not BFC:d. (can we release non-BFC parts?)

Hello Paolo!

Welcome on board the parts tracker!

I just wanted to assure you that we all on the parts tracker
appreciate the work that goes into submitted parts.
All reviewing and correction suggestions have the goal
of getting the parts ready for release.
Especially in the first time being here, there's some
learning curve of getting used to that.
The reviewing process has to carefully wipeout all issues
that later would disturb. In most cases, these can easily be fixed.

Unfortunately, in the past there were only very few official parts
releases, but this was not due to too much critisicm on the parts:
Even certified parts lingered for years on the parts tracker.
I myself have some babies here that already wait for over than 6 years :-(

Very welcome to our pile'o'parts :-)

Steffen

Welcome Paolo! I wanted to do this part for a while, but couldn't get my hand on one... thanks for creating it.

"(can we release non-BFC parts?)" Yes, but it must have a BFC NOCERTIFY statement.

However, we would prefer to have a part BFCed :-)

In case you wonder what BFC is:

- it simply means assigning a proper orientation to faces to correctly define "inside" and "outside"

- You can view it by using the tools L3Lab or LDView (there may be more). Sadly, LDView does not (yet) interpret the lines 0 BFC CLIP and 0 BFC NOCLIP correctly. Some googling should get you help on these two tools.

Oh, and I also think that the title should be "Wheel 68.8 x 36 ZR Hubcap with Five Spokes".

Hello, this is the fix for part 50965. I studied all suggestions given by Philo, Steffen and Arezey, and tried to apply BFC certification.
I hope this part is now better than previous.
Thank you to all reviewers and admins for their work.

First of all, looks a lot better.
However, I noticed still some issues, fix these and I'll give my certify.
- First, BFC-backwards triangles on the back of the part. The error is in the subpart, see http://www.majhost.com/gallery/arezey/ldraw/50965-3.png
- Missing conditional lines, see http://www.majhost.com/gallery/arezey/ldraw/50965-1.png. Can be generated using edger2.
- The stud is mirrored, can be easily fixed by making the -1 to 1 in the stud's rotation matrix.
- You should format the header using DATHeader to get it standards compliant.
- Probably the most severe issue are gaps in the rings, see http://www.majhost.com/gallery/arezey/ldraw/50965-4.png and http://www.majhost.com/gallery/arezey/ldraw/50965-5.png. The error is there because the subpart edges are like circles with 52(?) segments rather than the standard 48. You can see this in a top-down wireframe view of the part (see http://www.majhost.com/gallery/arezey/ldraw/50965-2.png). As you can see, the segments match in the top of the part, but elsewhere they are off. To fix this, I'd get completely rid of the rings that that meet the subparts and use Coverer to make new fillets.

In addition to Arezey comments, I would add that I find strange that ends of spokes are not flat, as can be seen in bottom left of http://www.majhost.com/gallery/arezey/ldraw/50965-4.png

Otherwise, part is quite good now!

Hmm.. I also think the part should be re-oriented to match other hubcap parts, such as 62701.dat.

orientation is wrong.
needs to match the other wheels.

(even if in some models is of course used as a helicopter rotor base)

"Five Spokes" in title should be changed to "5 Spokes",
we usually do not spell out numbers in the titles

I suggest renaming it to:
"Wheel Cover 5 Spoke for Wheel 34 x 56"
The other wheel covers have recently been renamed likewise.

Moved all the 48-primitives to the subfile.
It was the only way getting the five 10-segmented subfiles to match the 48-primitives.
