Is it a double injection mould? Or is it an assembly of two parts?
I think we need the uncoloured version here and the black/grey as another part.

I think it is. Mold number and LEGO logo only appear on rubber-like part.

The four internal boxes are too long. They protrude inside the understud they are supposed to grip.
Never seen anything like that before. Mounted on the outside of a understud, inside a 2x2 brick.
Do we need some Help info here?

Usually this type of dual material parts gets a pattern number.
I think this file should be changed to a uncoloured, hidden version, and the tail with a rubber black tip should be 42090p01.

This part is a Duplo one that is not supposed to fit anyway on an understud. In the only regular LEGO application (4094 monkey) the ribs fits in the grooves a Technic angle connector, and I sized them for this. I agree for p01, I'll make the changes once other issues are settled.

Are we sure, that the part should match the underside stud?
As more as I think on this strange connection (2x2 brick + 42090), I feel, that the inner walls of the 2x2 brick will fix this part at the cyli sides of the connector and not the underside stud.

I definitely have to check this carefully. Magnus, you are right, in the official model the part is mounted on the back of a 2x2 brick but in my box it was assembled to an angle connector, hence my confusion. Max may well be right...

It may well be that the friction is between the inside of the brick and outside cylinder of the tail base,
but it doesn't matter for this hold vote, since the internal boxes, inside the tail base, still are to long.
As I said before, they protrude inside the understud.

And a further look inside this combo shows that the internal depth might also be wrong. The understud pushes through the bottom too.
