I would not use hires primitives at that size. Moreover it doesn't match other 2x2 round bricks and plates.
Other reviewers opinions ???

The hires are needed for the pattern - the white 'gaps' between the red areas are 1/24 of a circle, which obviously you can't do with regular primitives - and I've used hires primitives for the rest of the part because mixing the two just looked bad.

As a side note, the part was originally built using 5-24conXX and 1-24conXX primitives, but these don't fit the 8.3 naming limitation so I ended up having to inline them - hence the large filesize :-(

This is a parts tracker issue only, longer file names are now valid (http://www.ldraw.org/Article512.html). Could you ask an admin?

Ah-ha :-) Right, I've emailed the primitives to Chris - once they go up I'll upload a new version of this part (which is only 5K...)

Rebuilt using new cone primitives. Massive reduction in filesize! :-)

there is a small gap visible from below
where the inside cone touches the top

The gaps result from 48ed primitives meeting normal ones.
I certify because the ring primitives usage is already a big
leap forward. If someone wants to go ahead and fix the gaps mentioned,
don't let this certify vote stop you, I'll restore it happily
