Part name needs to be extended.
There are two variants of this part, one dimpled, one not.
See
http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/3404c01
http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/3404c02
This file is apparently the dimpled variant

?? I don't see a difference.
Both the dimpeled and un-dimpeled variants are "old style"

"old" should be removed from part name.
(Each part at some point in time will become "old".)
We should find something more descriptive.

If they are plane to each other - this has been accepted back in 2004 where this part has been created. So I think we should not hold this file because we can improve it to make it perfect. It works like it is. IMHO.

I changed the rings and the studs.
And I removed one edgeline because you could see it from the topview. It is the one commented out. If it is OK, I will remove this line.

I like to see that out commented ring-primitive put back.
Each "part" should carry its own edge lines.
If this half is made of three diffrently coloured pieces, isn't it too a shortcut?
Maybe they should have there own (unknown) partnumbers?
Or could they be moved to the main assembly?

Just a short update to the creation process:
I bought these parts. Now I try to find a way to disassemble it. Any ideas?
(I write this comment only to one subpart, because it's not really relevant for the certify process)

OK, I found a way to open this part without any damage. Now I know. The turntable consist of 4 parts. Don't wonder, if I'm not so present here in the next days. ;-) This seems to be a lot of work.
