Many studs are mirrored. They should be removed from subpart and placed in main part with correct orientation. Otherwise looks very good!

agreeing.
the studs should be removed from the subpart
and instead put into this file.
this is the common practice for avoiding mirrored studs.
easily applied, and effective.

You can see this if you choose in LDView Preferences the Tab Primitives and there you have to check Primitive Substitution and Texture Stud.

Joerg, could you please also move the stud2.dat to the parent part?
I have two reasons for asking for this:
the first is symmetry. If the stud.dat are moved to the parent
part, why not also the (few) stud2.dat
The second reason is that I personally use Paul N. Easters
replacements for stud.dat and stud2.dat, i.e., the ones he created
that have a tiny LEGO logo in them. He used to publish them on his page
http://www.geocities.com/pneaster/lego_util.htm
, but GeoCities has gone offline, so they are no longer available
from there. If you want, I can send them to you on request.
I use these files as a substitute for the official stud.dat / stud2.dat pair,
to get the LEGO logo on the studs (without, the parts simply don't seem *right* to me :)))
The stud2.dat substitution is not 100% perfect, because there are parts
that have a logo in them there, and such that have not.
LDView only substitutes the stud.dat.
So all LDView users already get happy with your previous change, but my "logoed"
stud2.dat doesn't. Therefore, I ask to move these as well to the parent part.

Are you sure that the Technic peg holes at the back are vertically spaced by 48ldu?

Philo, please see http://news.webshots.com/photo/2111849930039669963yXbbEd. It shows the whole cabin connected with 3 parts 3701. The distance between the holes is 48 LDU. You also can assembly it in MLCad.

Yes, I agree.
The new stud groups are great, but let's not start updating every part that could use them.
