I think something similar should be made to this part, even though it isn't transparent.
The edge of the 'internal' tube surface is bleeding through the backside surface.

Redesigned so there shouldn't be any internal surfaces

It is at the side where the two studs are:

I can see a lot more surfaces now, that are present in both 30585a and 30585b,
and some in the subfiles s01 and s02, that could be moved to s03.

I have moved some surfaces from s01 & s02 to s03. There really shouldn't
be more surfaces from what there was before. Though I did decompose some
primitives into simple geometry so I could rearrange it. This means that
there are more lines in the files - is that what you mean?

Or do you mean that there are more surfaces in the main files of 30585a
and 30585b? In that case it is unique geometry that couldn't be in s03.

Some of the surfaces and edges added in 30585a and b could be moved to s03.

Redesigned slightly

None of the surfaces could be moved to s03, but I have moved it to s01
instead. I have then deleted half of the geometry and mirrored the
subfile in this part and in the b-version.

The two added condlines are already present in the subfile.

Added two missing edges

The two cond-lines are actually complementary cond-lines that I added
as the the other lines were attached to the original primitives and some
of the the control points were not following a tangental line with the
overall curved surface.

I learned about complementary cond-lines from you in the comments of
this part: http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/s/u153s01.dat

If they are wrongly placed i will of course remove them but I have let
them stay for now as I want to hear you out first?
