This part has a simple geometric form,
this makes it predestined to use primitives.
I don't understand why it does not use any at all :-(
I'm also missing BFCing of it

This part should indeed be rebuilt from primitives! Moreover, since it is a flexible part, end and middle sections should be subparted to allow easy creation of other shapes.
