One remark, the indented part of the tip is actually not smooth, looks like the LDD did not contain this geometry?
I did add it in my part but actually it adds around 2000 triangles...using quad bumps instead of hexagonal bumps would add 1400...

I don't think that details at this scale should be modeled so I don't see the need for a Need work notice. But maybe subparting the grainy surfaces would be a good idea?
