Why do we need these files?
715c01.dat, "Wheel with 12 Studs with LtGrey Tyre"
2695c01.dat, "Wheel Hub 12.8 x 30 Stepped with Tyre Model Team"
30027ac01.dat, "Wheel 8 x 8 Hub with Tyre 8/ 40 x 8 Slick Smooth"
I see no difficult positioning or benefit here. Just "library cluttering".

No, I don't think so. I had very carefully and long thought about
this question before submitting these shortcuts. As I see
this will lead to a broader discussion, let's shift the discussion
to the forums:

as this is the color 16 assembly,
IMHO we're fine with the ...c01 filename

Steffen, I have always communicated both design ID corrections and item ID corrections via comments. My use of the term "Item ID" means I wasn't advocating changing the "color 16" version of the part, but rather providing those values for use in item files. If we DID use the TLG design ID for this assembly, it would be a different story, but that argument was hashed out long ago, and we won't use that.
