This isn't an alias. The underside design of the new mold is a bit different from the old one...

Confirmed. I was looking through new 2013 parts on Bricklink the other day and this part came up. I believe the hinge part is also modeled slightly differently.

Both versions are present in LDD. It should be possible to extract them for a better comparison...

Putting a hold on this until it is fixed/changed.

Typo was fixed by admin edit.
Indeed, part is significantly different compared to 30407, but unless someone is ready to submit a correct one soon, I suggest to let it go now, perhaps with a (Needs Work) advice?

Yes, a needs work would be a good compromise. This should be done generally, when a part with such small differences go into the wild with an alias flag.

I really don't see the need or reason to rush this out in it's current state. The actual part already exists for users who want to build with it, so who really needs this? I'd say it's better to hold it back until it can be fixed/changed into the correct part.

I'd say to release with Needs Work as long as the differences are non-functional.

For me it alone is a benefit that this number is correctly
assigned and used.
And YES, it is GOOD IMHO that this is _not_ an alias.
It is a different mold,
just CURRENTLY "faked" by referring to another sibling.

Alright, coming back to this now, I will relinquish my hold, since I seem to be outvoted. I will abstain from certifying, though.

An alias that is not an alias as a mockup for a part nobody cares to model... I thought we were better than this.

Should not be that big deal to update this part according to the data we have. I'll give it a try. Until then i'll hold.

2 4 8.5 0 0 4 0 0

File should be rectified, shouldn't it?
Using stud groups can save some more lines :-)

To me, this is not certifiable.
Primitive substitution and subfiling should be made of the common areas in part 14137 and 30407.
