Title: Hacked
Name: Willy Tschager
About this entry:
The image has as usual been rendered with Bryce, my favorite program for this kind of job, because of the visual feedback when positioning camera and lights. To easy the color assignment in Bryce I separated the different colors into single LDR files by first inlineing the sub-files. The resulting files have been converted using Ldraw2LWS and LWS4Bryce. Ultimately all the white, chrome, brown,... files were merged in Bryce by carefully grouping them into families.
I rotate "Etan" a bit in a more upright position to get more of the figure in the picture. The colors you see are my custom Bryce colors matching the PovRay RGBs with exception to the trans-red laser beams, which has been substituted by a glowing material.
The scene is lit by four lights. The main white light bulb is positioned just above the actual light you see in the template. The second light is the blue spot shadowed by a MLCad matte. The matte shows the template scene. Light number three and four highlight the Plates Round 1x1.
Finally I smoothed the hair and some of the round parts. The final render took 20 minutes with super anti-aliasing turned on.
Because the final Bryce file weights more than 15 MB I didn't upload it to the site. Please contact me if you wanna have a look.
