Well Played, Number 10

Mike
Wait, what's this? Another one already? Yup! Hopefully this will help make up for being late with the past couple and get things back on track. Personally, I'm still trying to decide what's the best day of the week to post the new issues: Monday to help ease you into the work week, or Wednesday to help get you over the hump and onward into the weekend again? We'll see. The bottom line is that I wanna' entertain you, and I'll try my best each week to be as clever, goofy or sarcastic as it takes to accomplish that goal. So, ready?

Well Played, Number 9

Wondering why issue number 9 is so late this week? Or, what happened to issue number 8 last week? Sometimes, mysteries are better left unexplained. Other times, they become the subjects of comic strips. You never know. But, speaking of things that make you go hmmm...

A Kowakian Monkey-Lizzard!

Check out this really neat comic-styled CG video on Lego.com promoting the Clone Wars line. It's been a while since I saw something this fun on the Lego.com Star Wars page, looking forward to more in the series!

Poll-ympics

The Summer Olympics are in full swing in Beijing, and we're overdue for a new poll. So I thought to myself, what if Star Wars characters were competing in the Olympics? Use your imaginations. What if, in the Shot Put event, Yoda was thrown instead of the metal ball? Which Darth would win if every Darth ever Darthed were to compete in the Decathlon? (my money is on Maul, pre-lightsaber slash to the waist.) And my favorite, the Jar Jar javelin toss. Where the javelins are being tossed at Jar-Jar. Oh yeah. Cast your vote on the right.

Last week we asked you Which webcomic did you read instead of Well Played this week? If we'd given you more options, I bet many of you would have answered "What about Greg's comic??" or "All of the above!"

* Penny Arcade - 99
* FoxTrot - 103
* Calvin & Hobbes reruns - 233
* xkcd - 96

Well Played, Number 7 1/2

I'm posting this from Virginia on a very weak internet connection, having just now convinced the lifeguards to grant me a brief moment to catch my breath in order to bring you this week's very tardy edition of From Bricks To Bothans' very own webcomic, Well Played.

Your Backup Webcomic

Okay, so even the best laid plans can fall through sometimes. We missed this week's Well Played webcomic. We think Mike was abducted by strange aliens disguising themselves as hot lifeguards on the coast of Virginia or something like that. For this week's poll, we are wondering what other webcomics you might be reading. Take a gander to the right and select your other favorite strip.

Last week's Brickmaster-themed poll was not very surprising, to me at least. I think once Brickmaster started releasing exclusive sets, it got everyone's attention and more and more people are on the fence about subscribing. Anyways, here's the complete breakdown:

Are you a member of the Brickmaster program?
  • Yes, totally worth it! - 132
  • Yeah, but considering cancelling... - 29
  • No, but I wish I was! - 445
  • Nope. Totally not worth it. - 218

Sorry for the delay, it's been a heck of a day. I mean, between blogging, answering emails, doing laundry, hijacking a van and then getting my head slammed repeatedly into the hood of that van by some giant corporate tool, I'm just wiped out. But, luckily, fellow administrator and partner in crime, Ryan, was able to slide in a comic of his own in the interim to wet your appetite.

Mine's not as good as Ryan's, but it was the best I could do with a dislocated shoulder and a giant bruise on my head form having a car thrown at me:
