Orion Pobursky [3] was formally presented with his 2006 James Jessiman Memorial Award [4] plaque at the BrickWorld 2007 [5] awards ceremony on Saturday. LDraw.org co-founder and former Steering Committee Chairman Tim Courtney [6] did the honors. Orion is the fifth recipient of the JJMA since James' parents, Don & Robyn Jessiman, commissioned the award in 2001.

Tim Courtney presents Orion Pobursky with his 2006 James Jessiman Memorial Award [7] Orion has been heavily involved in the LDraw community since 2003, when he took over day-to-day operation of the LDraw.org web site and helped spearhead the LDraw.org Standards Committee, which governs the file format and parts library specs. He has put countless hours into ensuring the web site runs smoothly and interfacing with developers and parts authors to further the system's growth.

The James Jessiman Memorial Award recipient is carefully chosen each year by the LDraw.org Steering Committee. The only caveat is that current SteerCo members are ineligible for the award. Orion received the award while on a one-year hiatus from the SteerCo in 2006; he served on the 2004 and 2005 committees, abstained in 2006 because of military duty, and is now serving on the 2007 SteerCo.
