AH-64D Apache Longbow

Terry Keller
October, 2001

Terry writes about his model:

The Apache.
Admired, respected and feared the world over. Arguably the finest, most capable, most lethal production helicopter to date. Now multiply its capabilities with a mast-mounted radar, improved engines, avionics, and weapons.
That's the Longbow.
That's a serious threat.

Probably my favorite Lego model, the Longbow has approximately 1050 pieces, without minifigs. The LDraw version is nearly complete, missing only a few odd parts not yet available in .dat format - so a few 'mock-up' substitutions were made.
The rendering was done with Lars Hassings' L3P using a small change in the camera position, a little tinkering with the lights, and the addition of a gradient floor and ceiling. Oh, and the substitution of the default L3P parts with Lutz Uhlmanns' high quality parts - thanks to Bram Lambrechts' include file. A big thanks to Lars, Lutz, and Bram for making POV-Ray rendering so much easier.

See more of this model here.
