LDraw.org celebrates five years of being online today. The project began in early 1999 and launched to the public on July 7 of that year, almost two years after James Jessiman passed away. Since then, both the site and the community have grown leaps and bounds. Thanks to everyone who has contributed over the years!

The L PRIZE, an exciting new LEGO software developer contest is launching at SIGGRAPH 2004. This contest aspires to stimulate the creation of next-generation LEGO CAD tools that will benefit LEGO fans of all ages, skill levels, and interests.

Check out the L PRIZE Pre-Launch at http://www.lprize.com. On their web site, you can learn how you can get involved by volunteering, sponsoring, or donating to the contest. The public launch and media campaign will happen in conjunction with SIGGRAPH in August. (Select title to read more)

Due to the hard work of the team members, we hope to have the Model of the Month (MOTM) and Scene of the Month (SOTM) contests up and running by next month. As such we'd like to ask for any and all submissions to these two contests.

We are pleased to announce we've thrown the switch on our new content management system. This system will make it easier to add news and updates to the LDraw.org website, and it will also allow for more people to get involved with content.
