PreL3P can map LDraw color codes to other color codes and can replace color codes with exact 24-bit hexadecimal "extended color" representations. "Extended colors" are understood by some programs, such as L3P, but are not part of the official LDraw standard. PreL3P was originally conceived to circumvent L3P's limited knowledge of current colors, but other uses are possible.
