Over the past weeks, the
LDraw.org Bylaws Drafts have been posted and publicly discussed on
LUGNET. There appear to be no lingering objections to the drafts in their current state. Therefore, I hereby call for a community vote to ratify these drafts as the official Bylaws of the LDraw Organization. Read on for more info.
The current version of the bylaws drafts is v.4, and can be found here.
Anyone is eligible to cast one vote in the poll. However, you must have a (free) account on the LDraw.org web site in order to participate. If you don't have an account already, you can create one by clicking the "Register" option on this page.
Once you have an account on LDraw.org, you may log in, and cast your vote. There is also a notice of the poll and a link via the news feed on LDraw.org's main page.
This poll will remain open for two weeks, in order to give everyone the opportunity to see it and cast their vote if they so desire. After the poll is closed, the result will be announced on LDraw.org and on LUGNET, including the results of the poll, minus any personally identifiable information [1].
If the bylaws pass, they will come into full effect, and the Ad-Hoc Organizing Committee will proceed with the election process for the first Steering Committee per Subsection 6.03(b).
Tim Courtney
On behalf of the LDraw.org Ad-Hoc Organizing Committee
[1] In simple terms, this means, the results will not make it publicly known who responded to the poll and how they voted.
