LEGO Digital Designer 1.0 has been publicly released! Free download! (Note: Digital Designer is _NOT_ LDraw based, it does not use the LDraw parts libraries or any LDraw software.)
LEGO Digital Designer 1.0 was released early in the summer of 2003. LDD uses XML and a proprietary format, LXF, to describe models. Parts library is limited to those parts used in the Designer sets.

Key features:
LEGO Connections Tool: Bricks, axles, etc. snap together!
Hinge Tool: Rotate pieces around a hinge point. All pieces attached to the hinge rotate with the hinge.
Upload Tool: Share your models at LEGO.com

Minimum System Requirements:
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 98, ME, or XP
CPU: Pentium III 450Mhz
Graphics: 16MB 3D graphics card
RAM: 128 MB
Hard Disk Space: 100 MB
