<title>Help writing LDraw's history</title>
<link>http://www.ldraw.org/Article506.html</link>
<description>
LDraw's history hasn't been updated for a long time. With permission from BrickJournal publisher
Joe Meno we are going to mirror an article published in BrickJournal, Spring 2006,
Volume #1, Issue 4, which covers also the missing years 'til 2004. This leaves
us with 2005, 2006 and 2007. Browsing the various newsgroups a Lugnet I compiled a chart of the highlights, but the list is far from being complete. Feel free to add the missing pieces to this post at Lugnet.

<title>Preparing a L(EGO)Draw part for the Parts Tracker – A review</title>
<link>http://www.ldraw.org/Article493.html</link>
<description>
When the Lego Universe Team has started to share rough data of 80
parts http://www.ldraw.org/Article489.html
and soon after I've got feedback from part authors that because of
their excellent quality those parts were heavyweights and would give
us a hard time reducing the file size I was curious to what extend I
could strip them down. After approx. 10 working hours my part was
cut by 92%.

<title>L(EGO)Draw parts chart</title>
<link>http://www.ldraw.org/Article490.html</link>
<description>
The chart lists brick shapes we've got from the LEGO Universe Team. They need some clean-up to be suitable for the LDraw Parts Tracker. If you wanna contribute just download the file you want work on, but don't forget to email the LDraw Administration Team telling the part number your working on - your name will be associated with the part in order to avoid overlap.

<title>L(EGO)Draw parts</title>

<description>
As announced in this article members of the Steering Committee (SteerCo) have been in contact with LEGO to look at ways of working together to ease the conversion between the LEGO Digital Designer and the LDraw System Of Tools. This relationship has led the LDraw Steering Committee to the Lego Universe project in regards to it's building tools and such. So to help the process along, The Lego Universe team has started to share information regarding the brick shapes to further the relationship.

<title>LDraw All-in-one-Installer - Seeking Third Party Permission</title>
<link>http://www.ldraw.org/Article484.html</link>
<description>Dear contributor to the LDraw System Of Tools,

we would like to include your program in our new LDraw.org All-In-One-Installer, to be published by LDraw.org. You might have already agreed to a similar permission in the past but the LDraw SteerCo's concern is that the permissions have been sent to a personal mailbox and do not have a common wording. The permission template comes in two versions:

* Third Party Permission for a group of authors
* Third Party Permission for a sole owner of all copyright

Please pick the one that suits you most, print, sign and return a scanned copy of the permission.

<title>Commemoration of the 10th anniversary of James Jessiman's passing</title>
<link>http://www.ldraw.org/Article471.html</link>
<description>
On the 25th July 1997, James Jessiman passed away due to complications from the flu. The LDraw Steering Committee would like to commemorate the 10th anniversary of this sad day with a tribute page to James and his great foundation. We invite you to send in a picture of a:

1   4   0 0 0   1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1   3002.dat

(a red Brick 2x3 for all those who are not CAD nerds). Your contributions will be collected in a gallery on the site.
If you do not feel comfortable with radiosity or hires-rendering and your images are usually outputs of MLCad this is not a problem - we accept every kind of format, sketches, artwork or even photographs but we obviously prefer “LDraws”. Furthermore we kindly ask you to limit the size to 640x480 pixel. The rest is entirely up to you – no guidelines, no deadline (though it would be nice having your tribute by July 25th). Feel free to add a short text to your entry of LDraw.org's icon. Entries should be sent to the webmasters with the subject “LDraw - 10th anniversary” by using the following address:

webmaste&#114;&#064;&#035;say-no-to-spam#ldraw.org (don't forget to delete the spamblocker)

The SteerCo member's tributes have already been added to the gallery.

<title>NonCA-Parts in need of re-writing</title>
<link>http://www.ldraw.org/Article468.html</link>
<description>
Here is the list of files in the official library, whose original author has not affirmed the CA and and therefore need to be re-written by CA-authors.
William Howard and Guy Vivan have already put a lot of effort in this
task, with only a few parts left but also those have to be substituted. If anyone would like to re-write these from scratch - without copying the
original author's work, then please do so and send to the LDraw admins
(part&#115;&#064;&#108;draw*no-spam-please*.org) for submission to the Parts Tracker.

As we go through the library to reformat the headers, we may find other files
with significant changes made by non-CA authors. We'll deal with those on a case by case basis.
